Welcome to Psychic Library's Chakra Room. Chakra is a Sanskrit term that translates as "wheel" or "spinning wheel". The concept of the chakra originated from ancient Hindu writings and medical practices. They are whirling, circular energy centers within the body that regulate our ability to achieve physical and spiritual wellness. There are seven major chakras that correspond to specific organs of the body.

Chakra Descriptions

Chakras 1 through 3 relate to our mental perceptions of the physical world and astral world. Chakras 5 through 7 relate to activities and experiences in the physical world. Chakra 4 is the equalizer that connects the mind and body and is the place from which our soul emanates. Each chakra resonates to a specific sound and color vibration.

Balancing the free flowing energy of the chakras is the key to health and healing on emotional, physical and spiritual levels. Their proper alignment is also important to the psychic and psychic medium, to enhance their ability to transmit and receive information during readings.

The chart below addresses the seven main chakras attached to the physical body. However, there are many others that some yogis, spiritualists and psychics acknowledge. Two chakras that exist outside of the physical body are the Earth Star chakra (approximately 12 – 18 inches below the feet) and the Soul Star chakra (approximately 6 inches above the head).

Hand and Foot Chakras

Hand chakras are located in the palm of the hands and foot chakras are located in the arch of the feet. They are smaller in size relative to the major chakras. They can open and shut at will or when the body needs to give or receive energy. The hand chakras vibrate at a higher frequency and their color is usually red, but they can be blue, white or yellow.

Soul Star and Earth Star Chakras

Outside of the seven major chakras that are attached to the physical body, it is believed that two more chakras exist: the soul star and earth star chakras. The soul star chakra is located approximately 6 inches higher than the crown chakra. It is usually white and gold in color and is often referred to as the "seat of the soul". The Earth Star chakra grounds us to Mother Nature, located approximately 12-18 inches below the feet.

Chakra Alignment Meditation

Meditating on your chakras allows you to clear your mind and focus on your goals. It is important to continually practice this form of meditation. This is not only good for maintaining a healthy mind, body and spirit. It can also help open the doorway to psychic development and abilities, particularly when you focus on the brow or the third eye chakra.

Chakra Gemstones and Crystals

There are healing gemstones and crystals assigned to each chakra. To reap the benefits of chakra alignment and healing using the stones, the coordinating stone is placed directly on the body at the chakra location.

1st (Root) Chakra: hematite, bloodstone, black tourmaline, garnet, ruby, onyx, fire agate, smoky quartz, red jasper

2nd (Sacral) Chakra: carnelian, orange tourmaline, tangerine quartz, fire opal, citrine, moonstone

3rd (Solar Plexus) Chakra: citrine, golden topaz, amber, yellow tourmaline, yellow sapphire

4th (Heart) Chakra: rose or green quartz, watermelon tourmaline, aventurine, malachite, jade, emerald, peridot

5th (Throat) Chakra: turquoise, blue opal, blue topaz, fluorite, blue lace agate

6th (Third Eye) Chakra: lapis lazuli, purple fluorite, sugilite, azurite, sodalite

7th (Crown) Chakra: amethyst, clear quartz, diamond, moldavite

Chakra Sounds

Verbally repeat the chakra vowel or mantra sound and visualize its color and location within your body. This will maintain the balance and strength of your chakras.
